Syrisi Thank you Stigo for taking a moment to speak with me. I'm sure you must be very busy with the elections approaching. I'd like to start by asking you a bit about yourself.
Stigo *laughs* Its bee kind of busy, not too bad though *smiles* There's not really a lot to tell actually..... I was born in Britain, lived there for a few months, then made my home in Skara Brae...I've lived there almost five years now. My guild is also based in Skara Brae. than getting good people for WheelHouse I'd say I've not done a terrible lot in the way other of accomplishments....... I'm just an ordinary guy willing to help with what skills I have. *smiles*
Syrisi *smile* I see... You've got a pretty large guild...how have you managed to keep all of those folks busy and happy for such a long time ?
Stigo *laughs* I must say that can be an interesting chore......When we first started it was easy to do, lots of training, but once the training wasn't needed I had to start thinking of other ways to keep them busy and interested. We do a lot of guild hunts, dungeon crawls, treasure maps, scavenger hunts
Unfortunately at one time an old friend/rival found some sort of spell to possess one of my sons, and they helped save him, then my sister. That was a scary time, but fortunately they came through for me.
Syrisi (OOC question here) Wheelhouse is a role-play guild ?
Stigo no ma'am....Although I am slowly getting more and more involved, WheelHouse is a guild made of friends only. That's the only requirement, you have to have at least one friend in the guild. I do look forward to the time when the majority of the guild will participate though.
Syrisi *nods* I read your letter of acceptance and in it you said "have seen this quiet lovely town turn into a raucous playground for bullies and cutthroats. Its time for the citizens to stand up and be counted. I am not a man for politics, but rather than see the "control from afar" continue as it has, I am willing to attempt the job as Mayor of Skara Brae." Could you maybe elaborate on this statement ?
Stigo I think the statement is fairly clear. Most of the citizens that I talk to (and myself) think that the so called "guard" that has been posted by the high council do nothing but cause trouble in the town. Personally I have never know a guard to patrol a town by sitting at the bank and waiting for bad guys to come to them. Patrol means walking your beat ,not sitting still at the bank. It also pains me to see them talking down to the people of Skara Brae. They are no better than we, actually I think they aren't as good, yet they sit at the bank and prance and preen as though they are beauty queens.....
Syrisi *nods* You said "My goal is to return Skara Brae to the quiet town it was years ago..." Skara Brae is the center of most of the activity between the Virtue and less virtuous groups, how do you intend to accomplish the goal ?
Stigo There are a few ways that this could be done I believe....The most promising to me comes from an old friend that makes the study of magery her life. She has told me that she is currently researching an old tome that may hold a spell that would ward the town proper from evil intentioned people. It would not stop them from coming into town, but would stop a gate from appearing in the town. If it works the way she believes it will, enemies of the state will be restricted to entering the town through the public moongate or the docks.....Right now this is my best hope for stopping the fighting in the streets.
Syrisi *smile* That certainly sounds promising. The Collective has been hitting the cities pretty hard. You have your hands full in taking on the position as governor. You mentioned earlier that the Guard in Skara is not doing a good job in patrolling and such. Does this mean you'll be implementing your own Guard or demanding more of the current. I believe the current law in Skara Brae is Highland Guard. Am I correct ?
Stigo Highland Guard is part of it. I believe that the Order of the Silver Serpent also helps out I'm not exactly sure who all the High Council posted. But it would be a continuation and maybe an expansion of the current militia, Order of the Crimson Wolves, with more volunteers from other interested parties to beef it up. WheelHouse has a few in the militia already, and I'm sure other guilds will be wanting to help protect the town they live in, and possibly a few independents.
Syrisi excellent...it sounds like you have a pretty solid plan there. Anything you'd like to add...or say to the people of Skara Brae ?
Stigo Just that they vote for the person they think will help the town the most. I personally would have voted for Destiny if she had ran, but as it is, they are stuck with Trunks and I. *smiles*
Syrisi *smile* Thank you for speaking with me Stigo...Skara needs a strong Governor, good luck with the elections.

Virtue is the conformity in life to certain moral and ethical principles defined by Lord British to be made up of eight governing principles. Do those seeking to force these principles down our throats for our own good truly believe in what they seek? I ask you...
Compassion is a deep feeling of sympathy and sorrow for the pains of another and a desire to alleviate said pain and to remove it's cause. And yet Guardsman of the realm stand by as citizens are accosted in the streets of every city in the realm, and even have caused said pain for the "good" of the realm.
Honesty is freedom from deceit or fraud. Has the Council hidden truths from you? Is their agenda one of honesty, or is a small deceit acceptable in the interest of Order? Honor is honesty and integrity in ones actions and beliefs. Have they acted with honor in all of their actions? Or is honor reserved for those moments when they are caught with their kilts down?
Humility is a sense of modesty towards one's own importance in the grand scheme of life. Do you see humility in the interactions of those who would lead you into an age of shadow? Or have they become so self absorbed that they overrate their own importance?
Justice is the quality of conforming to the principles of reason in matters affecting persons who could be wronged or unduly favored. Has this Virtuous Council unduly wronged any of our citizens? Or shewn favor to a group or
individual in the realm?
Sacrifice is the surrender of something of value for the greater good of all. Have those who claim to be Virtuous surrendered anything to you the people of Sosaria? Or do they merely dictate what you must sacrifice?
Spirituality is distinguished in it's separation from the material, worldly affairs. Or a concentration on the inner self as opposed to an overriding concern with others. And yet the Council seeks to command how you view your
inner self?
Valor is boldness in facing an adversary or a great danger to oneself. Have the guards in our fair cities shewn Valor, or do they stand idly by while personal freedoms are exacted in tribute from the people they guard?
I say to you, good Sosarians, that this round table of hypocrisy that calls itself high shall fall, if not by it's own hand, then by force of arms arrayed against it in Honor and Valor! So says this member of the Coven of Secret Shadows in Honesty and Sacrifice! I call on all of you to rise up and let your voice be heard, as I have done, see if I am branded Rebel or Voice of Reason by the powers that now hold sway o'er your lives. And then decide where you stand...

Her Ring

The silence of the night cocooned Ariyana in her thoughts. Two weeks had passed since her "episode". Avalon had returned home to the Coven full of knowledge. And the Shadow Collective was again spreading their fingers to regrasp their hold in the lands.
Yet she still lamented over the lost time she had faced so recently. Try as she might, the four days and their events would not come back to her.
The three moons of Britannia hung low on the western sky, seemingly waiting for the sun to challenge them to fight off dawns breaking. Her own mind battled to break through the haze to remember. Nobody seemed to remember seeing her in those lost days. Where she went or what she saw in the days between departing Andrew Bishop’s company in Papua to the gardens in the Nujel’m Palace where the Coven finally found her musing over past events, nobody knew.
The only persons that had seen her during that time were a few short hours before the Coven found her in Nujel’m. The Paladins of the Church witnessed her shearing of her hair and her imagined wedding dress, her day dreaming of her past marriage to Cyric Rosewood. Shaking off the thoughts of that, only able to surmise that as the stress of the loss of her good friend Taja Mar, compounded by the illnesses of Nox, Tenebrous and several others had brought her to the point where escaping to the past was the safest place for her mind.
Rubbing her finger where her mother’s ring had been before her amnesiac episode, Ariyana lamented further. She could stand not knowing where she had been if not for the ring missing from her finger. The multi faceted sapphires had been her only link to the mother that was not allowed to raise her. The Prophet of her past had seen to that at her birth. The only tangible thing she had of her mother was that ring and a few memories that should not have been imbued in an infants mind.
Both Riverwind the charming Bregan d’Aerth, and the Coven’s new friend Renault Hauthaven had both promised to scour the lands to find the ring and place it back on her hand. Her own searching of the old remains of Caellum Mortuus has turned up nothing. She had walked the road from Trinsic to the old town, looking in all the old buildings that stood there still in the city of Dead Heaven. Nothing.
Rising slowly from her seat on the log on the western edge of the isle, she slowly began her walk back to the villa. A cup of tea to warm her inside and perhaps warm her hearts lament a bit. Not all was bad; the Coven had fulfilled their rites last night, dawning a new era for the Coven. But try as she might the sadness of losing that ring stayed with her the entire walk home, and would stay till the ring was found. |
