General
The healing skill is checked whenever you use
bandages to heal humanoids. Healing works on yourself, other players, most NPCs,
most monsters using the human body animation, orcs and orc lords, some other
humanoid monsters and swamp dragons.
Anatomy is very important when you rely on
bandages as your main source of healing. It is also
possible to use Healing without Anatomy, but only as
a backup healing method.
- Curing poison: Minimum 61 Healing, 61 Anatomy
- Resurrecting dead players: Minimum 81
healing, 81 Anatomy
The amount of damage healed depends on several
factors.
- Your Anatomy and Healing skill: up to 80-90
points with both skills GM.
- The number of times you've been interrupted:
The maximum damage that can be healed is lowered every time you're disrupted.
- Your dexterity: With high DEX you can
compensate for interruptions.
- The formula to calculate the damage healed is
believed to be: Anatomy/5 + Healing/2 + 10 for the maximum amount and Anatomy/5 +
Healing/5 + 3 for the minimum amount.
Healing Table
The time it takes to apply a bandage is also
dependant on your dexterity. Warriors with high dex can heal themselves faster
than mages with low dex. Healing yourself also takes more time than healing
others.

Skill Training
At low levels (0-65
healing) you can gain just by healing yourself or others. The easiest way to do
this is to create a tinker dart trapped box and attempt to pick it. You will
fail and hurt yourself. Now just apply bandages until you're at full health,
then set off the trap again.
You can also hire some npcs and have them all
fight each other while you heal them.
Normal healing and curing appears to be target
based. Because of that it's easier to switch to
resurrection at higher levels
(81+). Go on a boat with a ghost (dead player), then attempt to ressurrect him. Below
Resurrection is the fastest way to GM healing.
Tips & Tricks
- UOA has a key to 'bandage self' that
automatically starts a bandage.
- Record an UOA macro using a bandage (don't
target it), and then change it to 'use item type'. With a macro like this it's
easy to heal other players.
- UOA also has a bandage timer that shows how
many seconds ago you started your bandage.
- When you're poisoned, wait until the bandage
is just about to kick in before drinking a cure potion, so you can't be
poisoned again before the bandage works.
- You can gain from healing monsters, too. Orc
lords and other strong humanoids work well (Healing monsters is not possible in
Trammel). Realize you will be flagged criminal ("gray") and freely attackable when healing monsters.
