General
Discordance, a difficulty based skill, allows you to reduce the attributes and
defenses of a creature making it weaker. In
addition to lowering the base Provocation chance
of a creature, Discordance will also: reduces physical resistance, all elemental
resistances, and skills by up to 20% at Grandmaster (100) and 28% and Legendary
(120) skill levels. The swing rate, damage, and chance to evade are also reduced.
And finally,
the
skills
of that creature (anatomy, tactics, lumberjacking, weapon skill, wrestling,
parry, etc.) are also reduced. This makes that creature not only easier
to
provoke,
but easier
to
kill.
You use Discordance just as you would Provocation. The
Musicianship skill
is checked when you attempt to use Discord on target.
The base difficulty checks for Discordance is the same as Provocation.
Discordance cannot affect players. It can affect player's pets but only in Felucca.
The Flagging
rules apply when using this skill against player's pets in Felucca.
In a Player versus Monster environment, Discordance can be a great tool in helping
to kill monsters.
A note about Range and Line of Sight from UOStratics:
The base range of all bard abilities is 8 tiles, with each 15 points of skill in the ability being
used increasing this range by one tile. Bards must be within this range of the target to use the
ability. Furthermore, the bard must remain within this range or the ability's effect ends.
Once Discordance has been used on a target, the bard must remain alive, visible, and within range of the target or the effect ends.

Tips & Tricks
- To train discordance its easiest to use tamed pets to discord.
This way they won't go hostile on you when you discord them. If your
bard is not a tamer then I suggest you find a guild member who is a tamer.
The guild member needs to tame the pet for you and place it on a boat.
After a while the pet will go wild unless you tamed the pet. Friending
the pet will help but eventually it will go wild. This is rare and
only happens after many hours of training.
- A post in the UOPG Forum about discordance:
In Despise, the level above Barracoon's spawn (left staircase from entrance), there's a spot in the NW corner with a nice sized ledge and some stalagtites (or is it stalagmites? I always get them mixed up) you can teleport behind. The troll spawn here is horrible, but it's good if you want a lot of targets to practice discord. I'd just lead 15 or so to the ledge then teleport to the safe spot.
Discord does time out, but it takes a long time. So instead, in my macro, I'd cast invisibility at the end of each loop. Problem is, they'd walk away if they didn't have something else to target, so just get yourself a tamed mount and dismount it before you start macroing (behind the safe spot of course). I can't remember the exact time delay but 12000 sounds close (for the discord to wear off so you can rediscord them for gain). The trolls took me to low to mid 70's (not sure if music alters this much but I was around 117 at the time of doing it... if it does affect it, you could probably go higher with lower music). Theres also a difference in the time required to use discord again if you're successful or if you fail, and I can't remember those either but it should be easy enough to figure out.
