Cooking

General | Skill Training

General

Cooking is a skill to cook food. It also allows you, at 80 skill, to make Tribal Paint. Tribal Paint will make your skin pale white. You make the Tribal Pain with berries you find on NPC Humanoid Savages found near the City of the Dead and in a swamp somewhere. You double click paint when made and target yourself to apply it. You can remove the paint in two ways: You can die, or you can use an oil cloth (double click the oil cloth and target yourself). Tribal Paint is good because the Pied Piper Champion cannot turn you into a rat and you can avoid getting jumped on by notoriety killers (being turned into a rat makes you 'gray'). Also, from what I understand, you cannot be tracked while hidden/stealthing when you have tribal paint on.

If you plan on using the cooking skill, you will need a frying pan made by a Tinkerer and a heat source. Usually a Heating Stand in your backpack will do. Heating stands are also made by a Tinkerer.

Cooking by Keiron

There are 2 methods, the bread and the fish steak method. I'll be covering the bread method. One very important thing about cook that you should know (other then cooking has no real use) is it is not difficultly based (this means you can make whatever the hell you want and you have same % to gain)

To begin you should buy about 100 cooking tools (preferably from a GM tinker as they will last longer), 1 pitcher of water, and as many sacks of flour as you can hold. Next you will want to make about 20 or 30 dough's (this is because you will fail at making them later and you won't have to change your marco) Then you make 1 more dough and then 1 bread. Now go under the last 10 on the cooking menu. See how bread is at the top followed by dough? Click dough, now look see how breads in the 2nd spot? Good click bread. Now you just keep doing this to GM.

If you are going to macro this (through UOAassit) then try and get your marco to look like this:

Use Item Type (pick one of the cooking tools)
Menu Selection (dough)
pause 600
Menu Selection (bread)
pause 900
Rinse and Reuse

==========

I went entirely from 0 to GM making dough/bread. Don't waste time picking the wheat, go to the baker and the taverns and buy wheat and skillets from there. You'll want to get your pack kinda light and buy 32 flour sacks and 20 skillets.

The macro I used was just recorded to use item (skillet) and then choose the 2nd choice down on the "last 10" menu.
So before you record make one dough, then make one bread. Then record a macro that goes like this...

use item (skillet)
menu selection (2nd down last 10)
pause 1000
use item (skillet)
menu selection (2nd down last 10)
pause 1000
When recording the macro, close the cook menu after you make the 1st dough, then dbl-click the skillet again. You'll get an extra "menu selection" in your macro recording, delete it.

Altogether from 0-GM it took somewhere around 20 hours. However, you can get to 80 for tribal paint in 2 or 3 using this method.
